More than ever, corporations recognize that healthy employees translate into healthy business. Providing a health fair for your employees is an excellent and no-cost benefit that can improve morale, improve productivity, and potentially decrease overall corporate medical expenses, including workmen's compensation claims.
When is the best time to schedule a health fair?
Anytime is the right time to enhance wellness! Health fairs can be booked during the business week, or during the weekend. However, it's best to avoid scheduling a health fair before a major holiday or during another corporate event. Most importantly, try to obtain management permission to allow at least half of your employees to attend, or schedule it for a weekend so that families can participate!
What is the typical duration of a health fair?
This will depend upon the number of employees you expect to attend. Fairs can be as short as 2 hours, or last an entire weekend, depending upon your needs. The optimal time to schedule a fair is between the hours of 10am - 2pm.
What facilities are required to host a health fair?
That depends upon the number and type of vendors you select. Typically, we ask you to provide a room or space large enough to allow the vendors to exhibit and for your employees to move about comfortably. Most vendors require nothing more than a 6x3 table and 2 chairs. Some vendors, though, also ask for electrical outlets. Certain screenings, such as hearing screenings, require the privacy of a small room.
Our staff will review all requirements with you in advance, and will make adjustments to the vendor list as necessary.
Will my employees be interested in attending?
In most instances, employees who are aware of the health fair are interested in attending. As part of our preparation, we can provide you with flyers, posters, and other ideas to advertise your health fair internally.
